A local driving school, teaching one-to-one manual lessons across Hertfordshire.

Herts Driver Training is a local driving school in Hertfordshire. We teach manual driving lessons, one to one, in 2 hour sessions. There’s more than one of us, but we all work the same way, with patience and honest feedback.

Where we teach

We give one-to-one manual driving lessons in Borehamwood, Colney Heath, Elstree, Harpenden, Hatfield, London Colney, Radlett, St Albans and Shenley.

Our pupils take their driving tests at St Albans or Borehamwood test centre.

Our lessons

Every lesson is manual and one to one, so the whole lesson is about you.
Each lesson lasts 2 hours. That gives you time to practise properly, rather than stopping just as it clicks.
A 2 hour lesson is £80, or you can save with our 10 hour package for £380.

Qualified and approved

Our instructors are DVSA approved driving instructors (ADIs) or DVSA-licensed trainee instructors. On top of that:

We’re registered to teach Pass Plus, which helps new drivers build confidence after their test.
One of our instructors is a DVSA registered fleet driver trainer, so we can also train people who drive for work.
One of our instructors has completed the Driving Test Nerves Specialist Workshop run by Diane Hall of L of a Way 2 Pass. So we can help if nerves are holding you back.

How we teach

First, at Herts Driver Training we track your progress in the Total Drive app. That way, you can see how you’re getting on and we can agree what to work on next.

Before your test, we give you a mock test. It follows the same format as the real thing, so there are no surprises on the day. We also support the DVSA’s Ready to Pass? campaign, which helps you decide honestly when you’re ready.
